"BE CREATIVE, EXPRESS YOURSELF, TELL A STORY"

In 2009, Michael is offering a program that fits into this summer's themes – "Be Creative at Your Library" and "Express Yourself at Your Library."

"Be Creative, Express Yourself, Tell a Story" is a two and a half hour program combining a workshop for children and a performance by the children (and Michael).

Time schedule (morning or afternoon):

Kids' Workshop –                   75 minutes

                                                15 minute break

Open Performance –              60 minutes           Total time:  2.5 hours

WORKSHOP

The participatory workshop focuses on the basics of telling a story.

We will cover choosing a story, learning a story, the nervousness preceding the performance, and the telling of a story to an audience. Children will be led through various exercises or "challenges" that will help them prepare a story and deliver it effectively.

OPEN PUBLIC PERFORMANCE

The performance that follows the workshop will be presented by children who

have participated in the workshop, telling the stories they have just worked on.

Michael will MC and also perform stories and songs.
